Bigelow Bests Cameron at the BAFTA Awards as The Hurt Locker Wins Big

It seems Kathryn Bigelow is the odds-on favorite going into the Academy Awards, as The Hurt Locker won six BAFTA trophies tonight, including Best Film and Best Director. Inside, video of Bigelow's acceptance speeches and a full winner's list.

Here's Bigelow's acceptance speech after beating out ex-husband James Cameron for Best Director.

And here's Bigelow's—and her fellow producers'—speech after The Hurt Locker won for Best Film (again besting Cameron's Avatar), bringing its BAFTA total to a leading six.

After last month's Golden Globes, where Cameron won Best Director and Best Picture awards for Avatar, it seemed he was favored for the Oscars. When Bigelow won the Director's Guild of America's award for Outstanding Direction a week later, though—becoming the first female to do so—odds makers were thrown a loop and it once again became a toss-up. When adding tonight's BAFTA domination by Bigelow to the equation, it seems she's poised to win the battle of the exes two Sundays from now.

But if there's one thing Hollywood—and Big Brother—has taught us, it's to expect the unexpected. And in 14 days, we'll all have the answer.

Until then, here's a full list of tonight's BAFTA winners.
