Today, Jon Stewart sat down with Bill O'Reilly for a frank discussion on a range of issues, the first part of which aired tonight. Inside, video of the highlights, including Stewart's opinions on President Obama's performance and Fox News' reputation.
After talking about the fact that Stewart has been less praising of Obama recently on The Daily Show, O'Reilly asked him what "not OK" things the President has done. Stewart's main gripe with the President was that "he has decided that Congress is an equal branch of government," something he called a "huge mistake" and believed to be the reason for Obama's lack of progress on key issues.
Later, O'Reilly asked Stewart if he was "shocked" that Fox News was named the "most trusted" news organization in a Public Policy Polling survey. Stewart wasn't shocked about that, but he was still on the fence as to whether Fox should be considered a news organization in the first place.
O'Reilly then attempted to explain to Stewart that the "hard news" Fox programs actually are fair and balanced, and that people should know the difference between those and the network's opinion shows, but Stewart didn't buy it. He did, however, say that O'Reilly was the "most reasonable" voice on the network... but that it was "like being the thinnest kid at fat camp." *Snaps*
The second part of O'Reilly's conversation with Stewart airs tomorrow night on The O'Reilly Factor, at 8:00 PM ET on Fox News.
