CoCo's Revenge: O'Brien Reunites with the Masturbating Bear and Makes NBC Pay Big while Leno and Letterman Trade Insults

Tonight, while David Letterman and Jay Leno were busy insulting each other, Conan O'Brien did everything he could to piss off NBC: the return of the Masturbating Bear, a $1.5 million prop and a bombshell dropped by guest Adam Sandler.

PICKLES! — OK, NOW THAT I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION: FOR ALL OF THE NOTEWORTHY CLIPS FROM TONIGHT'S (THURSDAY, JAN. 21ST) LATE NIGHT SHOWS—ADDED AS THEY AIR—BE SURE TO VISIT OUR NEW POST: [CLICK HERE]

As per usual, all of the noteworthy clips from tonight's broadcasts are grouped below by show and labeled accordingly.

I. THE TONIGHT SHOW WITH CONAN O'BRIEN

12:05 AM ET: As O'Brien's days left at NBC dwindle, his comically harsh criticism of the network intensifies. In his monologue tonight, O'Brien continued to do anything and everything he could to piss off the network brass.

Later on in the first segment, O'Brien went through a list of well known things whose duration was shorter than his seven month stint as host of The Tonight Show, before bringing back a classic Late Night character that was banned from joining him at 11:35 PM: the Masturbating Bear.

12:55 AM ET: Remember when we said that, in his monologue, O'Brien did everything he could to piss off NBC? Compared to what happened next, that was nothing.

After returning from commercial, O'Brien mocked Leno's final day "Here are all the kids born to my staff during my time at The Tonight Show" moment with a rodent twist. Then, O'Brien gleefully explained to the audience that the one advantage of only having three days left on the air was that he could safely waste as much of NBC's money as possible. And with that, he introduced the newest Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien character: the Bugatti Veyron Mouse (price tag: $1.5 million). And if that wasn't enough, O'Brien then went to commercial as the classic Rolling Stones song Satisfaction played. How much do you think the licensing fees were for that one? Watch below.

O'Brien's first guest tonight was Adam Sandler, and the entire interview was an event not to be missed. Possibly the biggest moment of the segment, though, was Sandler's revelation that he and Chris Farley were actually fired by NBC in 1995 and didn't leave SNL willingly, as had always been assumed. Sandler recounted those days and explained it all with a quote from his manager: "NBC: Nothing But C***s."

3:40 AM ET: Oops! Look like I forgot to add this one earlier... anyway—before Sandler came out—O'Brien showed yet another "Classic Tonight Show Moment." Afterward, he was surprised by Ed Helms, who performed a rewritten version of Stu's Song (which he originally wrote for The Hangover).

II. THE LATE SHOW WITH DAVID LETTERMAN

10:35 PM ET: One might wonder how Letterman is going to top his Leno smackdown from last night, but dammit if he's not going to try. In this just-leaked preview clip from tonight's show, Letterman continues to make the case that Leno is a thieving, unoriginal hack.

11:50 PM ET: As he has done the past week or so, Letterman opened his show tonight with several biting jokes at NBC and Leno's expense, and also noted that O'Brien was "sandbagged." Anybody up for a workout with the Chinmaster?

III. THE JAY LENO SHOW

10:35 PM ET: Leno mostly avoided the controversy associated with the NBC late night shakeup during his monologue tonight, save for a couple of jokes at the network's expense (including one that sounds quite similar to a remark made last night by Stephen Colbert.) Just when you thought it was over, though, Leno surprised his audience—who responded with scattered boos—with yet another attack against Letterman's personal life.

11:05 PM ET: Leno's show wrapped up a few minutes ago with a segment featuring Arsenio Hall. The setup: Leno reads famous quotes, and Hall interprets the "real" meaning of them. The bit was a complete bore (and the men seemed aware of that fact), but there were a couple of noteworthy moments—another veiled dig at Conan O'Brien, and an overt one at NBC.

IV. THE LATE LATE SHOW WITH CRAIG FERGUSON

2:45 AM ET: With each passing day since his vow to not talk about the debacle that is the future of NBC's late night lineup, Ferguson has mentioned it more and more (not that there's anything wrong with that). Tonight, his "silence" officially jumped the shark—or penguin, since it is Penguin Awareness Day and all—and he knew it. All of Ferguson's hilarious mentions of the controversy are below.

V. THE DAILY SHOW WITH JON STEWART

11:30 PM ET: Leave it to Stewart, et al. to cover the NBC mess in such a brilliant way. Tonight, Stewart asked correspondent John Oliver to break down the Massachusetts Senate vote. As you'll see, allusions to Leno and O'Brien were abound.

VI. THE COLBERT REPORT

1:55 AM ET:: Tonight, Stephen Colbert opened his show with a bit about the Massachusetts US Senate election. Shortly thereafter, however, he had a few choice things to say about NBC, its treatment of O'Brien and the probability that it will lose $200 million on the Winter Olympics. And because he feels badly, Colbert had a solution: charity.

Later, Colbert welcomed NBC Sports chief Dick Ebersol—aka the network's attack dog against O'Brien—for an interview about the Winter games. When Ebersol asked him to help NBC promote the coverage, Colbert had one request: make me the new host of The Tonight Show. At the end of the interview, Colbert presented Ebersol with a check for the amount he'd raised so far with his charity. Can you guess how much it was? (Hint: you could just watch the below video and find out.)

VII. JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE!

3:10 AM ET: Kimmel made scattered NBC-related mentions tonight in his monologue, and also played a portion of the Taiwanese animation video that has been making the Internet rounds for the last 36 or so hours. Kimmel also mocked NBC via a facetious promo for the "2010 Winter Fat People Games" after commenting that The Biggest Loser is the network's only current success story.
